The upcoming federal budget

With increased and sustained royalties and corporate taxes collected from companies extracting natural resources, the next Federal Budget could include both a reduction to 6% in GST and a preservation of income tax cuts by the previous Liberal budget, in addition to a child care allowance of $600 to be handed out on 1st July and ramped up to $1200 on 1st Jan. However, Finance Minister Flaherty has already hinted he will delay a plan to cut capital gains tax for individuals on the sale of assets when proceeds are reinvested within six months.
